What Keeps Us Vibrant

Since 2001, we have been providing exciting opportunities for Catholics of South Asian origin to meet at various social, charitable and religious events, and celebrate our cultural and spiritual heritage. Our event calendar includes the famed annual fundraiser- the Taste of India, and the enjoyable Christmas Gala. We also gather to celebrate Easter, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, along with the ever popular Bowling Nights, Overnight Camping, and Game Nights. Our first Friday Praise and Worship and third Friday Healing Ministry meetings help us deepen and strengthen our spirituality. Every fourth Saturday we serve fruit to the homeless through the Bridge of Angels ministry in Austin.

Our Beginnings

Our organization was born on December 25th, 2000 at the home of Austin and Eula Sequeira – our founder members.  They had just moved to Austin and brought with them their experience with the India Catholic Association of America in Chicago (ICAA). Austin Sequeira registered the India Catholic Association of Central Texas as a non-profit association with the Texas Secretary of State on February 16th, 2001. Since then the ICA has scheduled regular general body meetings and executive committee elections during the annual Easter celebration.
